So @artsyfeathersartsyblog suggested that I take a stab at this moment from the recent MSA video, Hellbent. 5 years of dubbing anime professionally, don’t fail me now!

You can watch the whole video here if you haven’t. Please do.

Video, characters and the like belong to @mysterybensmysteryblog and @artsyfeathersartsyblog

Song is of course Hellbent, by Mystery Skulls

YOUUUUUUUU

This is AMAZING HOLY FUCK!!!!

(ALSO THANK YOU!!!)

2,000 notes in less than 12 hours, Y’ALL NUTS I LOVE YOU GUYS

Yes please!!!!

catalytically-rampant:

I really hope the bat being shot out of the shears like that means it projected Vivi’s hand away so it didn’t get chopped off, but Mystery’s reaction and the fact the hand is literally cropped out of the shot at the end is making me worried

(also note: MSA tends to not show bloodshed, Lewis fell off a cliff onto spikes and Arthur got his arm ripped off, the only show of blood is from small cuts or scrapes, so technically it’s not far fetched, also the bat didn’t break because it has a charm protecting it)

I have a theory about what the next MSA song will be

mysteriie:

OKAY HEAR ME OUT

I was thinking about the slow version of “Every Note” being played in Arthur’s car before Hellbent kicks in, because I refuse to believe any aspect of this video is included without a purpose.

It’s probably a nod to Mystery apparently feeling guilty about ending whatever his relationship to Shiromori was, but the more I thought about the lyrics, the more I realized…

it applies pretty well to the way Shiromori and Lewis (the characters that speak the lyrics most frequenty) are feeling at the end of the video as well!!

Just focusing on the chorus, for the sake of brevity:

In the faster version of the song, the tone definitely sounds more aggressive, which is in line with Shiromori’s Quest for Vengeance since she’s SUPER PISSED about Mystery “betraying” her

and thus giving up his sweet deal with Shiromori, which is explained very well and with a choice Little Shop of Horrors reference in this post

Lewis, on the other hand, is suddenly realizing how sad he is about giving up on his friendship with Arthur in order to exact revenge

as forshadowed by the sad shoulder ghost that appeared at the end of Freaking Out and was present thruout Hellbent

So yeah! It’s just a guess but I wanted to post about it so I could say I told you so in 2 years if I’m right. :^)
