#yeah like……. this was it #the cenote scene got me hard the first time i watched this film #but the second time… it was this friggin’ parallel #miguel went his whole life perfecting a skill that no one in his family cared for #literal years of practicing without so much as a bit of criticism or support aside from Mama Coco and Miguel couldnt really even play music #in front of her without facing Abuelita’s chancla or a lecture #and then heres this weird hobo— practically a complete stranger to Miguel— who not only coaches him through his first real performance #but then also validates the boy’s hard work and formorly unrecognized efforts in perfecting his musical talent #and inversly theres ffffffffreaking Héctor who has just been at the bottom of the pit for so long #a man who has been stripped bare of everything and left to barter and lie and cheat his way just to catch a glimpse of family #family that does not even want him #and poor Coco who would never potentially see him again in life or death #had everything with real meaning to him— his family— his songs— Everything taken from him and humiliated in death #meets this random kid who owes him next to nothing #who he met hours ago and only recently discovered they were related #screaming at the top of his lungs that he couldnt care less if Héctor was a peniless broken runaway #that hes PROUD to be related to Héctor in spite of being a lying cheating worthless bum #Validation #Vindication #I Freaking Love These Two Boys (via upperstories)
