NOTE: one type of fold will rarely appear on its own – they interact with each other quite a bit! for example, spiral folds might define the outline of a pant leg, while the interior folds might be zig-zag folds.

i’m trying to re-learn how to draw clothing, so i made this little guide to the most common shapes of folds that appear. hope it helps someone else too!

Your hands are so well done omg I just love em. Do you have any tips???

I mostly eyeball it…… drawing hands over and over gives you a sense of how the proportions work out without having to use references or drawing guidelines. So my recommendation to you is to draw hands over and over. Break them down into simpler shapes.

Fingernails are your friend. Seriously. The way how they curve will add LOTS of dimension to your hands.

If you can’t eyeball it, there are tons of guidelines online that you can try out. As for me, the bottom left is what I used when I couldn’t eyeball it.

Hi! First I have to say that I love your style and art in general, and the way you draw the AH/RT crew. You once mentioned on twitter that Photoshop did this weird thing to your lines at the end, where they don’t end in a smooth way. I was wondering if you could explain how to fix it since I can’t find anything on the internet about it.
